Basil is a senior audit manager and is responsible for leading teams to conduct statutory audits and fraud investigations. Basil’s key competencies include, but are not limited to, business development, fraud investigations, tax audits, financial audits, financial accounting, and risk assessments. At present Basil consults for the Norwegian Start-up Syssel Holding AS. Basil is an Adjunct Lecturer (Facilitator) at the Department of Accounting and Finance, Institute of Distance Learning KNUST where he teaches Advanced Management Accounting, Corporate Financial Reporting, Intermediate Accounting among others at the undergraduate and post graduate levels. Basil has also served on the thesis and exam committees of several post graduate students at the University of Stavanger, University of Agder and the Norwegian School of Economics. Basil has five scientific publications to his credit, all published in internationally reputable scientific journals such as the Journal of International Accounting Research, Afro-Asian Journal of Finance and Accounting among others.
Basil holds a PhD in Accounting and Auditing from the University of Agder, Norway, and a Master of Finance from the University Brunei Darussalam, Brunei Darussalam (Southeast Asia) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting Option, (First Class) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana. Basil is a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) UK, a member of the Association of Chartered Management Accountants, (ACMA) UK and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICA, Ghana). Basil was selected the overall best student Cost and Management Accounting by the ICAG in November 2013.
